In a case that came before the Maritime and Commercial Court,(1) meat exporter Danish Crown contracted a carrier (X) to transport fresh hanging meat from Horsens, Denmark, to a customer in Italy. The carrier sub-contracted the transport to its sub-carrier (Y).
