This article elaborates on the liability of sea carriers for damage to goods that occurs due to defects in the container used for transport – with a focus on sections 256, 262 and 275 of the Danish Merchant Shipping Act. It is part of a series that describes some of the issues that the Act's various liability regimes raise in practice, including issues in relation to the extent of liability for subcontractors and product liability for these types of damages
