On 15 December the Danish Maritime and Commercial Court delivered its decision in a dispute concerning insurance coverage of the damage sustained by the Siri platform located in the Danish part of the North Sea. The court found that there was cover under the insurance policy taken out by the plaintiff, Noreco Oil Denmark A/S, and awarded the company USD 344 million plus interest. Attorney Carsten Tolderlund, Windahl Sandroos, former general counsel at the company, has provided a brief commentary.
