“Offshorekontrakter 2011″

We recently held one-day training courses in offshore contracts in Esbjerg on 6 December 2011 and in Copenhagen on 8 December 2011. Article: “Marine Transport in Offshore Wind Development Projects”.

16 November 2011. This article describes the various issues involved in drafting and interpreting liability provisions in sea transport contracts under offshore wind development projects. Please see the article here: Marine transport in offshore wind.

Article: “Health & Safety at the Offshore Work Place”.

15 November 2011. In contrast to offshore oil and gas there is no dedicated safety legislation directed at offshore wind projects – the rules governing onshore activities apply to offshore wind as well. We introduce these rules briefly and make an initial assessment: Health & safety in offshore wind.

Presentation: “Offshoreprojekter  – og lidt om juraen”

Date and venue: 12 November 2011 at the annual general meeting of the Danish Wave  Energy Association, in Odense. The presentation is a briefing on lessons learned in offshore projects in oil and gas and wind and their relevance to future wave energy projects offshore Denmark. Presentation: “Offshorekontrakter og -forhandling”

Date and venue: 31 October 2011, at the University of Southern Denmark, Esbjerg, for the participants in the project “Energi på Havet” (“energy at sea”). This presentation provides an introduction to negotiations and key terms in offshore contracts in the wind energy sector. Article: “Contracts in Norway”.

10 October 2011. Danish contractors increasingly enter the Norwegian offshore markets due to the high demands for labor and services there. Article: “M&A in Offshore Wind”.

26 September 2011. This article provides an overview of the specifics of M&A in offshore wind projects, taking into account the Danish Renewable Energy Act and the proper principles for valuing electricity producing assets, notably the unique life cycle risks of offshore wind farms and facilities. Article: “Offshore Wind Farm Development  – Benefits of Standard Contracts”.

23 September 2011. In this position paper we describe the benefits of introducing more standardized terms and conditions for offshore wind farm contracts. Standard contracts are likely to lower both internal and external legal costs, improve the quality of contracts and speed up negotiations. The paper can be read here: Article on benefits of standard contracts in offshore wind

16 September 2011. This article describes the impact on the E&P industry of the UK Bribery Act that came into effect on 1 July 2011. A dedicated and proactive approach to compliance – much in the same way as improving health and safety performance – is required. Workshop on AIPN Model Contracts

Sandroos law firm participated in the AIPN model contract workshop on 28 June – 1 July 2011 in Paris. Bo Sandroos is a member of the committees on the drafting of a model AMI agreement and the revision of the JOA Accounting Procedure.

Article: “CO2 Storage – Amendments to the Danish Subsoil Act”
